According to the power source and grid development plan for the period 2021-2030, Ben Tre with very good wind potential will be an opportunity for the province to attract investment in the wind power industry, bringing economic efficiency and meeting the National Energy needs. Specifically, data at the measurement levels: 40m, 60m, 78m and 80m of the wind data monitoring station in Thanh Hai Commune in the period 2017 - 2018 shows that the main wind direction of the project is East and Southwest, the annual average wind speed is is about 6 - 6.3m/s at the monitoring altitude. This is a favorable condition for developing highly effective wind power projects.
The progress of investment in the construction of Wind Power Plant No. 4 in Ben Tre Province (expected in 2030) is directly related to the synchronization of investment progress in the connection and transmission system of the 220kV and 500kV power grids of Ben Tre Province until 2030, orientation to 2050 (according to the Power Development Plan VIII).
However, the current power grid conditions do not meet the province's development needs. According to the national power grid development plan for the period 2021-2030, it is necessary to get the support from the People's Committee of Ben Tre Province to make plan of developing the power grid, bringing common benefits.

Therefore, at the working session, Mr. Nguyen Tien Khoa - Chairman of EVNGENCO1's Board of Directors proposed that the Provincial People's Committee put the Ben Tre Province No. 4 Hydropower Plant Project into the Provincial Electricity Development Plan for the period from 2023 in the spirit of the decision on approving the national electricity development plan 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 and the plan implementation plan of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. He also proposed that the Provincial People's Committee allow adjustment of Investment Decision No. 1809/QD-UBND dated August 23, 2019 to update the project implementation progress of 120MW before 2030 and some other contents such as connection synchronous power grid, total investment, number of turbines, land area...
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tam highly appreciated EVNGENCO1's activities in recent times. Through the current status report and proposed plans of the Corporation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Thanh Phu District to coordinate with departments, branches and companies to consider and propose the most optimal plan. At the same time, it was required that localities and companies to consider land procedures, environmental impacts, etc. to ensure compliance with legal regulations on implementing the project.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the province will create the most favorable conditions for investors, including EVNGENCO1, to implement the project.
