Currently, the 2024 spring rice crop in Nghe An is entering the tillering period, and it is necessary to provide enough water for the rice plants during this period. However, in recent times, due to sparse rainfall and fewer rainy days than in previous years, the water level of the Ca River has dropped, and some pumping stations were unable to operate at times. Through actual inspection in some downstream localities, hundreds of hectares of rice in some communes in two districts, Thanh Chuong and Do Luong, have suffered from water shortages leading to drought. Therefore, raising the water level of Lam River to ensure pumping stations can operate is an urgent issue that needs to be done immediately.
