Dong Nai Hydropower Company reached the milestone of 20 billion kWh of electricity output - A proud journey

At 6:19 PM on March 25, 2024, Dong Nai Hydropower Company reached the milestone of 20 billion kWh of electricity output transmitted to the national grid, making an important contribution to the Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1) in providing electricity for the country's socio-economic development.

Dong Nai Hydropower Company was established under Decision No. 71/QD-EVN dated February 14, 2011 made by the BOD of EVN for the main function and task of managing and operating two plants (Dong Nai 3 and 4 Hydropower Plants) with total installed capacity of 520 MW. On January 1, 2013, Dong Nai Hydropower Company moved under EVNGENCO1 according to the Decision No. 3023/QD-BCT dated June 1, 2012 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the establishment of the Parent Company - Power Generation Corporation 1.

Officially generating electricity to the national grid of unit H1 - Dong Nai 3 Hydropower Plant on January 8, 2011, followed by the units H2 Dong Nai 3 (June 11, 2011), unit H1 Dong Nai 4 (March 28, 2012), H2 Dong Nai 4 (June 24, 2012) with the 20 billion kWh milestone is such a great pride, marking a process of effort, striving, solidarity, labor, creativity, proactively overcoming all difficulties of generations of officials and employees of Dong Nai Hydropower Company. And above all, it is by the attention and support of local leaders and the electricity industry , especially the close attention and direction of the leaders of EVNGENCO1.

Over the past years, Dong Nai Hydropower Company has closely coordinated with the National Load Dispatch Center (A0) to manage the safe and effective operation of 2 plants, exploit and regulate the reservoir in accordance with procedures and promoting digital transformation. The company has also synchronously deployed technical management measures, and at the same time well implemented the plans for maintenance and repair of equipment and construction works, ensuring the safety of power units, equipment systems and completely and reliably contributing to the completion of the Company's plans.

With 4 power units with a total capacity of 520 MW and the ability to operate flexibly, in addition to providing large power output to the National power system, the plants also play an important role in adjusting frequency and voltage to balance the power system, especially in the context of renewable energy sources accounting for a large proportion today. Dong Nai Hydropower Company also plays an extremely important role in coordinating with hydroelectric reservoirs in the Dong Nai river basin to regulate reservoirs, ensure flood control in the rainy season and drought control during the dry season for the downstream region.

Managing power production

In parallel with the task of producing and trading electricity, Dong Nai Hydropower Company always pays attention to social sustainability development in the two provinces of Lam Dong and Dak Nong, which is not only spreading the fire of faith for life but also contributes to the community with profound human values. Since putting the generating units into operation until now, Dong Nai Hydropower Company has also contributed more than 3,400 billion VND to the state budget for the socio-economic development.
