Vietnam Power Development Joint Stock Company

Vietnam Power Development Joint Stock Company (VNPD) was established on July 22, 2002 by five shareholders inclusive of EVN, Vietnam Electric Trade Union, The Eastern Joint Stock Company (JSC.), Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Manufacturing JSC. and Power Engineering Consulting JSC 2. Passed ten years of development, the Company has incessantly grown up stronger, gradually increased in the legal capital, from 13.7 billion Vietnam dong and 14 employees only at first to 1.000 billion dong with around 200 employees up to now.

With main funtions and duties are investing in construction of hydropower works and producing, trading in electric engery,... the Company is now performing management and operation of the Nam Ma - Ha Giang (3.2 MW) hydropower plant with output of about 10 million kWh per annum; Bac Binh (2 x 16.5MW) with output of 127 million kWh per annum; also investing in construction of power source projects such as Khe Bo Hydropower Plant (100MW) with output of 411 million kWh; and the Company is also in preparation for construction investment of Nam Khieu Hydropower Plant.

Imlementing the slogan “Continuous investment - Effective operation - Substainable development", orientations of development in 5 years (2012-2016) of the Company are: Completing construction investment to put the Khe Bo Hydropower Plant into commercial operation in the Quarter 3/2013; Ensuring safe production with total annual output to attain 537.7 million kWh in estimation; Performing medium maintenance and overhaul for units; repairing works items of the plant frequently and accordingly; Seeking for and investing in additional new hydropower projects; Setting up and applying the quality management system ISO 9001-2008 into management tasks from the company to the units in order to enhance quality, effectiveness in operation; and expanding some other fields.

VNPD's appearance not only takes part in good exploitation of hydropower sources, power production for development of the country, but also brings, in long term, a stable profit source for the shareholders, particularly for electrical staff.
