EVN International Joint Stock Company

EVN international joint stock company (abbreviated as EVNI), evolved from Cambodia EVN joint stock company, has been established and officially put into operation since October, 2007, with the charter capital of 2.400 billions. The company’s shareholders include: Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), Vietnam Rubber Group, Petrol Vietnam Power Corporation, An Binh commercial joint stock Bank, SOVICO Group and some agencies.

The key orientations and strategy of EVNI are to focus on development of main business aspects of the company namely: Electrical production and transmission; Domestic and international electric power trading business; Construction, operation of power projects taking into consideration of expanding its business into the areas in which the Company has advantages; and gradually affirming the brand of Vietnam's power sector in the region.

The projects which EVNI has been performing the investment procedures are mainly  in Lao and Cambodia, including: Hydropower projects of lower Se san 2; lower Se San 1/ Se San 5; Sekong hydropower project, Nam Mo 1 hydropower project. In addition, to ensure the energy security and sustainable environment on the basis of maximum exploiting of hydropower energy in the region, EVNI also takes over the tasks of project management consulting, cooperating with power engineering consulting joint stock company No. 3 and No. 4 (PECC3&4) to perform surveying, planning establishment and implementation of the 500kV transmission line project connecting grid line of Vietnam-Lao-Cambodia with the capital source funded by ADB.

The development orientations of EVNI are: Continuously expanding investment in other countries in the region and in ASEAN community; Contributing to the socio-economic development of the countries which are invested. Simultaneously, through the interconnection transmission line, electricity is exported to Vietnam to partially solve the power shortage in the coming years, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of power
